SANDY JOINS LAMPLIGHT STUDIO

Bill Miller 5/21

Sandy was recently offered an Associate position with LampLight Studio, a new ceramic and glass studio just opening to the public. While assisting with the operation of the facility, teaching clay classes, and helping with marketing, she will have a ceramics workspace in the new studio.

Sandy met owner, Rob Miller in 2005 and through the years they sporadically kept in touch with their mutual interest in clay. A year ago he told Sandy he purchased an old firehouse in Overland, Missouri. Over the last nine months she watched the facility transform from the 1952-built fire station into a wonderful art facility. Impressively, Rob did much of the construction work himself, moving bathrooms, eliminating the fire station showers, adding a kitchenette area, gallery space, and sectioning off various rooms for studio areas. The space is now fitted with top of the line equipment carefully selected by Rob.

With this opportunity, she is leaving Soulard Art Market and is thrilled to join LampLight Studio.

SANDY's BUTTERFLY DESIGN ACCEPTED FOR "WINGS IN THE CITY"

Bill Miller 5/21

Wings in the City

Back in March artists submitted designs for a public art project called WINGS IN THE CITY. Wings, a BJC pediatric hospice and palliative care program, is sponsoring a citywide project showcasing over fifty decorated butterflies throughout our community next Spring to call attention to and raise funds for their Expressive Therapy Program.

Wings is a nonprofit organization that provides palliative and hospice care to children who have progressive or life-threatening illnesses, regardless of the family's ability to pay. It is the only program of its kind in our area to aid patients and families and help minimize the fear and maximize the joy during a difficult time as they deal with their health issues.
